That's a bummer about the windshield. Was it laminated?

I'm sad to see the patina go, but the frame is so gorgeous I can't wait to see what you do with the body anyway.

sand blasting sucks!

after I got the out side stripped I started on the inside of the cab.there is places on the inside that are worse than the out side. busted out my old sand blaster to clean up some hard to get to spots.I planed on rolling it outside to do my blasting but it got cold ,so I wrapped some plastic around it climbed in and got after it. worked well to contain the sand and dust. sand blasting sucks but is very effective .

Does look like you did good though....

At least you got some air thru the sand blaster ......still...you must have had sand in about every nook and cranny of your person....

Sand blasting looks good, I really need to do that on both my projects.. I like the idea of covering the outside to contain the sand.. that I will have to do!

Thanks . this setup also made it easier to recover and reuse the sand, it aint free. I use a mix of mason sand that I pour threw a screen and black blasting media from menards.
two bags sand and one bag blasting media works better than sand alone.

cuttin & patchin

[;) back to cuttin and patchin rust.using sheet metal I cut from the bed.easier than welding new steel to old steel.after I patched the inner structure I sand blasted that area and sprayed it with weld thru primer.forgot to take a pic of that step.

more progress .I got the rest of the front end parts. decided I didnt like the way the upper control arms bolted into some slots with T-bolts.changed it to accept shims like a GM.I still need to make a jig so I can locate them squarely and centered.
