    Canadian Unfinished Nationals

O.K., so I just got back from Paris moments ago. I'm going to try to upload some pics. I already tried uploading a picture of an old Int'l off Photobucket but it didn't work. Appearantly it's too big. Anyway, I'll try here to show some shots from the show today. Forgive me if it doesn't work...

Great advertising for a local wrecking yard

This sits out front atop a local boneyard. BTW, first attempt at "Photobucketing" a picture. If a picture of an old International shows up, great. If not, I'll try again. If that doesn't work my 11 year old can do it !!!

Looks like the 4th Annual Unfinished Nationals are going to be held at the Fairgrounds in Paris, Ontario on the first Sunday in June. Around 200 vehicles turned up last year. Anyone going ?

Anyone know of the salvage yard featured on Stacey David's "Gearz" today ? Looks like they have lotsa good stuff there.

Quads / ATC / ATV question

Fellow members - - my kids ( 11 year old girl, 10 year old boy ) have been working hard for two and a half years and have saved enough for a cheap 4-wheeler. We've been hitting the ditches and collecting beer/liquor empties and cashing them in for their "four-wheeler fund" and now have $560 on...

    Colby Wrecking Yard ??

Just stumbled across an article in a publication about Colby Wrecking Yard in Colby, Kansas. Looks like they have some nice stuff there. Anyone from here ever have any dealings with them ? What's their stuff like ? How are the prices ?

    Just saw "American Graffiti"

Just finished watching it about 20 minutes ago. Haven't seen it in about a dozen years. Saw it when it first came out. In fact, I was about the same age then as my kids are now. My 10 year old son could take or leave old cars, but my daughter (11) loves 'em. She even pointed out that the cop car...

Anyone remember these tires from the 1960's - '70's ?

Wish I had a picture to show you, but I don't. Anyway, bear with me as this could take some explaining. I'll try to be as explicit as possible: When I was a kid, before I was old enough to drive, there was a guy in my town that had a semi-hopped up/never finished ( sound familiar ?) '65 Chevy...

    Paris, Ontario swap ?

Any of you 519 ( or even 905 ) area code guys know when the first swap meet of the year is in Paris ? It's always at the Paris Fairgrounds, usually third week of February or so. Anyone know if it's the same time this year ? Anyone going ?

Anyone catch Hot Rod Television this morning ?

Caught an interesting episode of Hot Rod TV this morning. 19 year old kid goes tin-hunting and builds a '28 Roadster on a '32 frame. Nice to see a 19 year old building something other than a fart-piped Civic. The build was enjoyable to watch, but the part that turned me on most was the parts...

Car or truck... which is less costly/difficult ?

Been doing some thinking .... hope to have something in my empty garage this spring, but it's going to depend heavily on finances. At the moment I have none. Come spring I probably won't have any either but I hear the bank has lots as long as you promise to give it back to them after you borrow...

Tornado tires from the '70's ?

Any of you Canadians remember Tornado bias plies (then eventually radials) that were available only at Canadian Tire years ago ? Just a guess, but I'd say they were around from maybe '73 or '74 until around '83. It seemed like a lot of guys had them. Nice white-lettered font on the sidewalls...

Acetone to increase gas mileage ?

Re-posting this, folks, originally/accidently stuck it under the "build"section.... anyway, I had asked if anyone ever heard of adding acetone to your gastank during fill-ups. Before the administrater deletes it from the other section I see a few have replied/chimed in on it. Any of you guys...

Anyone have an old van and a measuring tape ?

Hey guys and gals ..... I'm thinking of going solo in my line of work. If so I would need a van as a service vehicle. While everyone else is running a later model Savanah/Econoline I thought it'd be an attention getter if I had something older, say an early '60's Econoline or something of that...

    ...Paris, Ontario ?

Anyone know for sure if there's a show in Paris today ? It's never well publicized but lots of fun.

    Ontario (Canada, eh ?)

Hi ..... Ontario guy here with no money and too much time on his hands. Old enough to build a rat rod and young enough to enjoy it. I've joined other forums on-line and find it a great way to fantasize until I get something of my own. Long story short: "corporate restructuring" caused me to sell...
