    4-Bar set-up question

I've been searching other threads on rear 4-bar set-ups but really couldn't find what I was looking for. I'm planning on using short links that I can adjust from 12"-14" eye to eye so I can tuck the rear axle in closer to the body. I'll be using a transverse spring. My frame rails are 29" wide...

    Wire wheel question

I have a set of 17" and 19" Ford wire wheels I would like to use. The 17's look pretty solid with straight spokes with the exception for 3 bent spokes. The 19's have a few more bent spokes but hardly noticeable. There is one broken spoke on one the 19's. Are these still useable? Can they be...

    Rear radius rod question.

I have a pair of front radius rods i wanna use in back. Would it be necessary to brace the upper and lower bars together if I was to use them in the rear suspension?

    Is this angle ok?

Is the angle of the batwings too excessive for the the spring pivot? The shackle plates are slightly fanned which seems to help reduce stress. Or am I just be fooling myself.

    Would this work?

I had some extra parts hanging around from previous projects. Started to piece some things together and came up with this 4-bar set-up. I have never seen it done this way(Clevis's) and was wondering if it would work? Looking for some opinions good or bad, pros and cons.

    Clevis to Heim?

I'm wanting to switch my rear radius rods with clevis's for a 4-bar set-up and retain the single mounting bracket on the axle. My question is, could I bolt up a heim to one side of the existing bracket without fear of failure or shearing to the bracket? The other end of the bar will be mounted...

    inverted radiator

Found these pictures on the web. Builder said he flipped the mustang radiator because it fit better. From the pic it does look like it fits better because the dog eared bottom tank tapers with the top of the grill shell. How well does this set up work...

    Panhard length question

Just got a new J-bar panhard bar. I want to mount it to the pinion but I am concerned about the length. I would have to trim it down to a length of approx. 14" eye to eye. Could this shortend length cause any problems down the road?

    What size bolt?

Does anyone know the size of the four engine mount bolts that go into the block of a 1974 Ford 351W?

    Watts link. Will this work?

I was thinking of fabricating a watts link center bracket to mount off the pinion bolts. Has anyone ever seen this done?

    4-Bar and Triangulated Question

This is really 2 questions. 1. When doing a straight 4-bar setup, is there a minimum rod length eye to eye? 2. Triagulated- Is there a specific angle to set the upper rods at? Would it matter either way if the triangulated rods were mounted on top of the differential or further out near the...

    Front spring question.

I am trying to determine approximate ride height using a 6 leaf Mr Roadster front spring. The spring stands about 6" tall unloaded. I was planning to remove the two smaller leaves for a little softer ride, that would also lower it about a 1/2". I plan to use a 351w and C4 tranny. With that...

Need ideas on how to rake font end

I got an '80 Honda cb750 super sport that I want to put a little more rake to the front end. I need ideas or suggestions on how to do this. What might be throwing me off is the triple backbone. There's alot going on at the frame just behind the neck.

    Box or not to box?

Recently I picked up an early Ford double A frame. (Model AA dump version). I'm planning on using the rails only. The frame horns were missing and the rails will need to be cut to length since they are over 14' long. The wall thickness of the rails are 3/16" and the width of the rail is 1-3/4"...

    Hydraulic lever shock question

I've got a set of Delco hydraulic lever shocks I want to use on the front end of my Model A project. Does anyone know if the arms can be adjusted internally to change the angle of the arms in relation to the shock body? Right now it seems I would have to mount it at some angle which is no big...

    Lever Shocks

Does anyone know how to remove the arms from hydraulic type lever shocks? The pair I have are the Delco type. One of the arms have a crack in it. Thought about welding it but just don't want to take the chance of it failing down the road. I'd like to make new arms for it and a bit longer also.
